Hunters represented in SA Parliament inquiry

On Monday 19 July ADA Board Member David Pope from the Northern and Yorke Branch represented the interests of recreational hunters by giving evidence to the South Australian Parliament’s inquiry into Bow and Crossbow Hunting.

Mr Pope gave a solid presentation which was well received by the Members of Parliament on the Committee.

David was able to address several items that had previously been raised by those that oppose what we do and had the opportunity to present real facts and real-life experiences to counter the misinformed and biased representations of our opponents. This resulted in several questions being asked by the committee that demonstrated a real interest in what we do.

ADA was able to explain that Bow Hunters do not walk around the community ‘attacking defenceless animals’ as had been alluded to by some.

ADA also raised and discussed with MP's the topic of Public Land Hunting in SA. Whilst we wouldn’t suggest that Public Land Hunting for wild deer will be something we see in South Australia shortly, we have certainly started the discussion and we have every intention of keeping it going.

The ADA is proud to represent you all and will continue to be an advocate for all hunters Australia-wide.
